SOMETIMES I FLAIL MY ARMS ABOUT & CALL IT "DANCING"

As a cinematographer, Joey Bania has a very precise eye for composition and a skilled hand to execute his creative vision. These two elements combine to lend a sophisticated voice to his storytelling - I urge you to watch his experimental documentary of Blair Somerville, a rustic automata tinkerer, to see what I mean. His narrative of this real-life anachronistic inventor is absolutely enrapturing and sprinkled with playful stop motion techniques befitting of the subject matter.

'Spem in Alium and Her Unable' marks his second collaboration with Canadian ambient composer, Kyle Bobby Dunn. It was released on May 22, 2014 prior to the launch of Dunn's new album, Kyle Bobby Dunn & the Infinite Sadness, expected to go live on June 10, 2014.

Joey approached me, instructing me to dance my little heart out and I essentially became a one woman Mexican Wave. I do believe that for a product to be great, every single aspect has to come together in harmony to make it the best fucking work in the world. From the studies of my expression and performance after the release of this video, I must admit that yes -- and to be critically honest -- I wish I had done a better job with my performance to do Joey's amazing cinematography justice.

It sounds weird to admit this as a subject within a piece of work. It also sounds like an attempt at false modesty. Nonetheless, dear reader, upon watching the video, I think you would agree with my analysis. In many ways it is not easy to play both detached observer and active participant... but I hope I have come to hone and parlay it into a strength. Perhaps it will help keep me partial to identifying the true strengths and flaws of anything and everything around me. Maybe it would enable me to strive for constant self-improvement.

A big thank you goes out to Joey Bania, for involving me in his creative process -- I am infinitely grateful and immensely flattered. This experience has also inspired a need in me to start expressing myself again. Thanks again, Joey. You da bomb. If you have not done so (yet!) please do check out his website to view more of his work or follow him on twitter.

On a related note - I have also been pole-ing for 2 years. The acrobatic kind :)
